And every day, the world will drag you by the hand, yelling, “This is important! And this is important! And this is important! You need to worry about this! And this! And this!” And each day, it’s up to you to yank your hand back, put it on your heart and say, “No. This is what’s important.” – Iain Thomas

Who else ever feels like they sometimes get totally swallowed up by this demanding, fast-paced, over-stressed & highly over-communicated society that we live in? Not to mention the constant pressure to be perfect & to be a success? Do you feel yourself worrying about everyone & everything else except for yourself? Getting caught up in the past or worrying about a future event that probably will never happen the way you imagined it would? I TOTALLY GET YOU!

It’s perfectly okay to get caught up in all of the above from time to time – it’s bound to happen at some point because we are only HUMAN after all! BUT it’s important that you learn to yank your hand back from the grips of the world, place it on your heart & remember how important & precious you are.

Last weekend, I had a forced self-care Saturday that was arranged especially for me by my special hubby. I got to enjoy a series of beautiful self-care activities (yoga at Tree Natural, a full body massage at Absolut Heaven, lunch over a glass of wine with my bestie & a lovely gentle evening walk) all of which were the littlest of things that helped bring me back to reality, gain some perspective, ground myself & focus on what really matters.

You can’t pour from an empty cup. You HAVE TO look after yourself first, Gorgeous! If you feel like you are struggling with the pressures of the world I STRONGLY suggest that you develop a regular self-care practice – whether it’s something small that you do every day or even just one thing that you do for yourself even once a week. It’s in these moments that you are able to unplug, recharge, celebrate the little things, allow yourself to find a place of gratitude & be filled with love for yourself & everything around you!

With love from me to you, Andene Xx

I would love to hear your feedback, Gorgeous!
