On a totally different note: If you have a sweet tooth or often find yourself sitting with sweet cravings – eating sweet vegetables (such as onion/caramelised onion, sweet potatoes, butternut, beetroot etc) can definitely save your day! Try to add some Healthy Girl Caramelised Onions to your meals and see how your sweet craving settle.
Healthy Girls Caramelised Onions
2 Medium Onions, sliced (I find red onions to be sweeter)
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
90ml Balsamic Vinegar
1 Heaped Tbsp Coconut Sugar (Optional, but recommended)
- Heat a frying pan over a medium-high heat, add the olive oil and sliced onions.
- Cook the onions until translucent (about 5 – 10 minutes).
- Once the onions are translucent, add both the balsamic vinegar and coconut sugar to the frying pan.
- Turn the heat lower and allow the caramelized onions to simmer for another 5 – 10 minutes (until nice and sticky).
