Acai Smoothie Bowl
For absolute months I have been drooling over all these scrumptious images of acai bowls (OMG!) on Instagram, but sadly I have never been able to make my own one at home because we do not get acai berries in South Africa… BOO! However, I have been eyeing out an Acai Berry Powder in Dischem stores for ages SO I decided to try it out this week. The results were ACAIZING !!! (see what I did there) You can read about the benefits of Acai Berries here. Try out this divine Healthy Girl recipe, you will honestly feel as though you are eating dessert for breakfast!
1 small banana
1/3 cup of frozen blueberries
1/2 scoop of vanilla protein powder (I highly recommend Magnum Nutraceuticals Quattro Protein Powder)
3 tablespoons of rolled oats
6 tablespoons of water
1 tablespoon of almond butter
1/2 teaspoon of Nature’s Choice Acai Berry Powder
1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
Toppings – Nuts, nut butter, seeds, granola (I highly recommend the Moonbean Cacao Superfoods Grawnola), fruit, chia seeds, coconut shreds. Let your imagination run!
Peel your banana and place into an airtight container to freeze overnight.
Place three tablespoons of rolled oats into a container with 6 tablespoons of water. Cover and place into the fridge to soak overnight.
In the morning place all your ingredients into a blender. Blend until a smooth and creamy texture is reached.
Pour into a serving bowl and sprinkle with your favorite toppings.
It’s as easy as that!
