Fitbit Charge 3 Review
Set goals and CRUSH them is EXACTLY what comes into my mind when thinking about the all new (pretty in rose gold) Fitbit Charge 3!
As some of you will remember, I am no stranger to the Fitbit fam! Last year I got to review their Charge 2 (click here) and I have LOVED using it as part of my healthy lifestyle ever since! Fast forward to this year and now I have been lucky enough to review their most advanced fitness tracker yet… the Charge 3. I have been so content with my Charge 2 for the last while, I didn’t think it could get much better BUT, that was until I trialed the Charge 3!
When I opened up the box, the first thing that caught my eye was the same elegant design (that I fell in love with from the Charge 2) coupled with some awesome new twists and features! First off, let’s talk about the colour! A beautiful navy strap complete with a gorgeous rose gold outlined watch face… I MEAN! Ladies, need I say more?! NAILED it Fitbit 😉
Secondly, the Charge 2 was mostly touchscreen but still had a side button. While inspecting my Charge 3, I noticed there was a side button NO MORE and that the watch is fully touchscreen – How fancy?!
Something that I also really appreciated, the Charge 3 is water resistant up to 50m. This was a big bonus for me because it does get annoying having to take your watch on and off the whole time. This way you can keep your favorite fitness accessory on you come rain or sunshine… LITERALLY!
OKAY, but my FAVOURITE new feature of all?!
Without a doubt, goal based exercise modes! This means you can not only track your workout and health stats but you can also challenge yourself and push yourself a little harder. As if using a Fitbit didn’t hold you accountable and inspire you enough already!
The arrival of my Charge 3 together with this exciting new feature came at the PERFECT time for me because I was in the middle of our 30-Day Holiday Shape Up Challenge! The goal of this challenge was to give it one last push before the holidays begin and by using this motivating new feature, I was able to challenge myself that much more on some days.
How this feature works:
- Set up your exercise modality (I usually set mine up on workout)
- Before you begin, set up your goal.
- You can choose between a calorie goal or a time goal.
- Hit START and CRUSH your set goal!
I love how you can choose between a calorie goal or a time goal.
We are all unique and different goal set ups will work for different people! For those who like to track calories, you can set your calorie target and push until you hit that magic number.
On the other hand, we all live such busy lives and don’t always have much time to spend working out. By using the time-based goal option, you can make the most of the time you do have available and push yourself as much as you can within that window.
The best of both worlds! I have enjoyed using both options depending on the day and how I was feeling.
