A few years ago, you would have thought that I had the whole “healthy” living thing all figured out. The truth? It was all an illusion because, in reality, I was totally disconnected from myself and had never been more lost.
I genuinely used to believe that if I was prettier or thinner that I would be healthy, more loveable and happy. But after a while, this kind of thinking resulted in a very damaged relationship with food and my body.
Back then, my weight, how I looked and comparing myself to others consumed me. Food was in control of my life and I was stuck in that toxic dieting cycle – eating “perfectly” until I cracked, followed by binge / emotional eating, then waves of guilt would crash over me which then lead to restricting and punishing myself with food, exercise and negative self-talk.
And to add to it all, I was so preoccupied with trying to be perfect (plus believing I wasn’t good enough), that all the wonderful things in my life mostly went by unnoticed – how horrible?
After a while though, I finally got fed up with the way that I was living my life and decided enough was ENOUGH. It was well past time to start treating and loving myself the way that I deserved.
It’s been a long and certainly not easy journey to get to where I am now but today I stand proudly as a certified holistic health coach as well as a passionate advocate for self-love and balanced living!
It’s because of my past struggles that I am on a mission to help woman who may currently be trapped where I was a few years ago – not liking myself, dieting, over-exercising, confused, overwhelmed and not knowing where to begin.
